As fans eagerly anticipate the album's release on December 12th via digital platforms and February 27th for the physical edition, frontman Michael Barr shared some insight into the track in a statement. bad Habit is a song about identifying those habits that are deemed bad for you or unhealthy, which may be the only thing getting you through life, he said. "Is there a balance that can be achieved? Typically, no." The thought-provoking lyrics highlight the album's thematic exploration of the human experience.
