Carrion Vael Unveils New Single & Music Video '1912' from Upcoming Album 'Slay Utterly'
Carrion Vael have released 1912, the second single from their highly anticipated fifth album Slay Utterly. The Richmond, Indiana-based technical melodic death metal band continues their exploration of true crime on this record, delving into the lives and victims of notorious serial killers and brutal cases.
This new track draws inspiration from the infamous Villisca, IA axe murders that occurred in 1912 an unsolved crime that claimed the lives of eight people, including six children, who were brutally slain in their home overnight. The band's lyrics delve into the haunting mystery surrounding these tragic events, capturing the sinister forces at play in a seemingly idyllic town.
Regarding their creative approach to the song, Carrion Vael shared the following statement: Some tragedies serve as a stark reminder of evils presence lurking beneath the surface of even the most picturesque small town communities. On a sweltering June night in Villisca, Iowa, a mother, father, and 6 young children bore witness to a harrowing display of malevolence. Unfortunately, they were the only ones to document the horror, as no one was ever apprehended for the murders. 1912 plunges into this heinous mystery, letting waves of brutal blasting spearhead the way.
