Cancer to Release New Album 'Inverted World' in April
UK death metal legends Cancer will release their highly anticipated follow-up album 'Inverted World' on 25th April via Peaceville Records. The album promises a return to their signature blend of serrated riffing, guttural vocals, and relentless aggression.
Speaking on the upcoming release, founding member and vocalist John Walker shared his thoughts: 'I started writing new material shortly after the Covid lockdowns. Riffs often begin as guitar experimentation before turning into musical ideas. The lyrics centre around a concept I've been thinking about, drawing inspiration from current events and personal interests. I feel fortunate to still be able to create music at my age.'
The album's first single, 'Amputate', will be released along with an accompanying video on 14th March. Death metal titans Cancer have a 35-year history of delivering brutal and uncompromising music.
Their latest release, 2018's 'Shadow Gripped', saw the band reunite for the first time since 1995, earning praise from both old and new fans alike. 'Inverted World' offers a masterful attack on songwriting with brutal hooks, exploring themes of manipulation, barbarity, cult mentalities, compliance, and the brainwashing of people.
The album features 10 tracks: Enter The Gates, Until The Died, Inverted World, Bodies, Test Site, Amputate, When Killing Isn't Murder, Covert Operations, Jesus For Eugenics, Corrosive. Expect a dark and visceral journey into dystopia with Cancer's release of 'Inverted World' on 25th April.
