A statement from Hatebreed's social media channels confirms that bassist Wayne Lozinak was taken to the emergency room at Download Festival on June 14th due to mild symptoms that raised concerns of a possible stroke. After undergoing a CT scan, doctors discovered a brain tumor - a benign meningioma - that has likely been present for years.
Following a thorough evaluation, including an MRI, the diagnosis was confirmed. Thankfully, the tumor is slow-growing and non-life-threatening.
Wayne will be returning to the U.S. shortly to prepare for surgery and focus on rest and recovery. Despite the challenging circumstances, his determination to return to Hatebreed as soon as possible remains unwavering.
