Mystic Festival, a premier metal music event in Poland, has announced its lineup for the 2026 edition. Taking place from June 3rd through 6th, 2026, at the Gdansk Shipyard, this year's festival will feature a quartet of Polish bands that have made significant contributions to the world of metal.
The headliners for the event are Behemoth and Decapitated, two bands that have gained international recognition for their respective styles.
Behemoth, one of Poland's most well-known metal bands, has undergone a remarkable transformation since its early days. From playing in underground black metal circles to performing on the biggest stages, the band has become synonymous with Polish metal and popular music. Events such as live concerts and album releases have lent credibility to its reputation, including a 2023 concert at the Philharmonie de Paris.
The festival will return to Gdansk, Nergal's hometown, for the fifth time, where Behemoth will headline one of the festival days. This serves as a testament to the band's enduring influence and success.
Decapitated, known for its modern vision and original death metal sound, has garnered acclaim globally due to Vogg's creative driving force and determination.
As a versatile musician, Vogg has collaborated with various bands, including Vader, Lux Occulta, Machine Head, and Decapitated itself. The history of Decapitated is marked by ups and downs, but the band's mantra of 'strength derived from pain' serves as a badge of honor. In 2026, the Shipyard will host the band's concert for the sixth time in Poland, bringing to light the 30th anniversary of the band.
The upcoming year also sees Decapitated focusing on new material, featuring their new vocalist Eemeli Bodde. Frontside and Hostia round out the lineup, each contributing distinct styles to the event.
Hostia's death grind sound has captivated audiences worldwide, including a notable performance by Iggy Pop on BBC. The band remains true to its artistic vision, releasing exceptional albums like this year's 'Razorblade Psalm'. It was only fitting that Mystic Festival book Hostia for the 2026 edition.
