Biography

108 is a US Hardcore band. The name refers to Mâlâ, a Buddhist rosary used to recite mantras and composed of 108 grains or wooden beads. The music of 108 is supposed to reflect their faith in Krishna consciousness (Hindu divinity). After Inside Out split in 1991, Vic DiCara formed 108 , quickly joined by Rob Fish singing. The first albums, Holyname and Songs Of Separation , were released by Equal Vision in 1992 and 1995. The albums follow, as well as the participations in 2 documentaries on Hardcore.
After a few years break during which DiCara moved to India to become a monk, 108 reformed for the 2005 Hellfest. The cancellation of the festival does not prevent the band from reviving in a series of concerts, followed by an album of demos and b-sides and a new LP A New Beat From a Dead Heart in 2007 at Deathwish. 108 does not remain there and plans to release his next album 18.61 at the end of 2009, planned at the base to be a simple EP. The battery parts were recorded by Mike Justian ( Unearth , Trap Them ).
