Biography

16 Volt (Sixteen volt) is an American metal band composed of two permanent members: Eric Powell on guitar and singing and Mike Peoples on bass. Other members occasionally accompany them in concert, or invited during the recording sessions. The band was created in 1988 and released their first album "Wisdom" in 1993, which will go almost unnoticed. Then Skin and LetDownCrush will gradually talk about the band, which is starting to get a bit of fame, only in the United States. Their first album to experience an enthusiasm will be Supercoolnothing , released in 1998 and containing several cult songs, which will be part of the "primal" video game released in 2003 on playstation 2. The band will also release an ep entitled "Primal combat" with the best compositions of the band destined for the game, a sort of best of the time featuring their most accomplished songs remixed for the occasion ( Happy Pill, Suffering You, And I Go, Keep Sleeping, At The End and Alkali). This ep is also a good way to discover the band, only 6 songs that will certainly give you the desire to deepen this unknown indus group. The band will not release any more albums in almost ten years, its members being too busy with their side projects, they will only resume writing from 2007 with FullBlackHabit (2007), American Porn Songs (2009) and recently Beating Dead Horses (2011). In addition to the Primal video game, we can mention the fim "Carrie 2: The rage" for which they released the single "Keep Sleeping", their contribution to the opera rock (excellent indeed) "Repo! The genetic Opera" and the film "Wizard of Gore". They are still active today and have just started a tour with KMFDM.
