18 Visions
Biography
"The band you love to hat." This is how it is defined 18 Visions , the formation originating from Orange County, which can be retained an immoderate taste for fashion and extravagant hairstyles. After releasing some qualified EPs in the underground genre of "hardcore chazy", the band signed with Trustkill and released its first album, Until The Ink Runs Out in 2000. The band changed rapidly from bassist to guitarist James Hart (chant), Ken Floyd (battery), Keith Barney and Brendan Schieppati (guitars), and Mick Morris (bass). From that time some members of 18 Visions played in Throwdown and Bleeding Through . The band then chose to re-register titles from their old EPs under the ironic name The Best of Eighteen Visions , as they did not expect any commercial success at all. Then in 2002, Vanity's release will divide the fans: indeed, the band mixes with its heavy hardcore metal elements (with a featureting by Howard Jones by Killswitch Engage) and even some rather new riffs. It is too melodic and too smooth for some, devilishly catchy for others. It is then a period of change, Brendan Schieppati will leave the band to devote himself to Bleeding Through , Ken Floyd will become guitarist and Trevor Darkbaby will settle in the drums. The few ballads of Vanity announce the company direction on the album Obsession, in 2004: more accessible, the CD consists of quite pop songs and ballads, with however a rock n roll side unique to the band. The commercial success comes then, the group signs at Epic. In 2006 the band released album eponymous much more soft than their previous productions: real creative momentum or mainstream formatting?
