1905
Biography
Designed and planned at its origins to be a punk band, 1905 will finally have reached a musical form free of any cleavage, drawing as much from the creamo as the folk to compose his work. Formed in the early 2000s in Washington DC, a city strong in musical history, 1905 (a name most certainly chosen in reference to this year's Russian Revolution) is a stage band and plays its first shows at the same time as it composes its first tracks. Sharing, delivering a message, that's the most important thing. With the addition of a bassist in 2001, the combo takes another form, more focused on an alternation between screamed and angelic voices. Male versus female, sound aggravation versus indie lull. Virginia's training was released the year after its first support material, through a split with Amanda Woodward's French; followed in 2003 by his first opus via Exotic Fever Records : Voice . Federative, revolutionary, leaning on a flawless political commitment widely transcribed in his words, 1905 gave birth to an inspired hybrid work that will mark the scene and take a unique place. Without official release or large declaration, the group seems to have stopped the adventure a while later, as if there had been no need to talk about the end, 1905 being one of the aspects of their lives that he was not ready to bury and that they would continue to pursue, living, simply. Note that the guitarist, Nick Kirbys, is now looking at a single folk project called Songs of August. His first album is called 1902 .
