36 Crazyfists
Biography
Formed in 1994, in Anchorage, Alaska, the band released its first four-track Boss Buckle demo in 1995, and already shows a sense of maturity. In 1996, the death of their bassist in a car accident appeared to be the coup de grace for the group that then had barely two years of existence. Nevertheless, 36 Crazyfists survived and in 1997 they left Alaska to settle in Portland, OR. The line-up ends around Brock Lindow (song), Steve Holt (guitar), Mick Whitney (bass), Thomas Noonan (battery). This is followed by Rest Inside The Flames, which receives a more mixed welcome, even if the album climbs to 71st place of the English charts, which allows them to embark on a tour with Twelve Tribes. 36 Crazyfists signed at Ferret Music, which released The Tide And Its Takers in May 2008, when bass player Mick Whitney was replaced by Brett Makowski. The combo takes the opportunity to release a DVD Live Underneath A Northern Sky at the end of 2009, followed 6 months later by a new album Collisions and Castaways .
