A Hawk And A Hacksaw
Biography
A Hawk And A Hacksaw is initially the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Barnes (including drummer of Neutral Milk Hotel). After an eponymous debut album, he was quickly joined by violinist Heather Trost. The duo then explored the eastern European regions and revisited the anthems of New Mexico, like Beirut, to record Darkest at Noon and The Way The Wind Blows in 2005 and 2006. Their albums, leaving the beautiful part to the instruments, give the musicians the opportunity to wander their imagination on the roads through melodies taken away and joyful from which come, sometimes, vocals and shouts played.
Conquered by the Balkan atmosphere, the band moved to Hungary and toured with a few bands and bands from the region whose result was an EP released in 2007 (A Hawk and a Hacksaw & the Hun Hangar Ensemble ) and a new album, Deliverance , released in 2009.
