Biography

Under the original name Koen then Smackin' Isaiah, the quintet of New Bedford (Massachusetts, USA) was formed in 1993. After three K7 ( The Big Fall Give Girls More Beer Gets Eaten Alive! ), a split CD ( 6:6:6), two albums ( The Way To A Girls Heart Is Through Her Boyfriends Stomach , Benefits Of Thinking Out Loud ) and an EP ( The Champagne Of Bands... We Know Sexy ), a new name for a new millennium, the band will now be known as A Wilhelm Scream .
After this change, Benefits of Thinking Out Loud came out via Jump Start Records in A Wilhelm Scream gets back to work and gets a contract with Nitro Records and recording sessions with Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore. From these will release Mute Print (2004) which will make them a little more known to the punk rock audience, and which will allow them to tour tirelessly with Near Miss , Break the Silence , as well as on the Warped Tour and Japan.
Rebelote in 2005 after the release of Ruiner in August (always recorded at the Blasting Room), A Wilhelm Scream is a renown and performs concerts in the USA (notably alongside Pennywise , Alexisonfire and Strung Out ). The first European combo tour takes place in January 2006, with Lagwagon, and a 7" Diver will be released on February 07 on Jump Start. It was then that Curtiss Lopez suddenly left the group; Nick Diener (The Swellers) is acting on the US tour with Less Than Jake in February, and Brian J. Robinson (ex-Jerk Circus , The Fullblast ) becomes a permanent bassist. The band starts off more beautiful with its new band and will shoot continuously or almost: Canada with Protestant The Hero in March/April then Europe (and the Groezrock) with Anti Flag and The Unseen . On their return, they took a few weeks to start working on the next album and then went back to the United States during the summer with Lagwagon and The Lawrence Arms, then Europe in September with Rise Against , Australia in October with Less Than Jake , Canada in December with Silverstein , Europe in January / February with No Trigger in the first part ... then they landed two months to finish recording an album they recorded in May at Blasting Room Studio with Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore.
They returned to the road in August alongside Strung Out (USA and Canada) then Only Crime and The Swellers in October, along with Career Suicide's release. Chris Levesque (guitar) was tired of the tour, preferring to move away from the band just before the tour, and Mike Supina (Alucard) replaced him at his feet. Then Nick Diener played the replacements again during a US/Canada tour with The Fall Of Troy and The Flatliners (December). Then head for the UK with The Unseen in January/February 2008 and return to Europe in April/May (the group is confirmed for the Groezrock) and then Canada. Mike Supina again played the replacements for this marathon tour that ended in September '08, and ended up becoming a full member.
This follows a few months of rest which lead to the composition of a new EP in the first half of '09. In June they announce their departure from Nitro Records and join Paper + Plastick (label of Vinnie Fiorello - Less Than Jake , Fueled By Ramen Records) for a first eponymous release at the end of November. For the occasion, AWS takes a small tour of Europe in November / December.
