Biography

The story of Aarni began in 1998 in Finland, under the aegis of Markus Marjomaa (Umbra Nihil), after he left the group of Gothic Metal Unevitable. Master Marjomaa, as he calls himself, creates, before even a musical identity proper to his project, an entire universe around it. Thus, fictional characters supposed to be part of the formation were born, burlesquely named Count of Saint Germain, Doomintroll and Mistress Palm. The somewhat original frontman also creates a psychedelic imagery, like the artwork of the band's first album: Bathos, which appeared in 2004. The music that it contains is totally in its image, an alliance of naivety and an array of instrumental details, it serves a Avantgardist Doom Metal with very folkloric consonances, totally apart from the Metal scene. In 2008 he released a second equally barred effort, named Tohcoth and a split with Persistence In Mourning in 2010.
