Absu

Formed in 1989 as Dolmen by Equitant Ifernain (Guitare, bass and lyrics) and Shaftiel (guitar, singing), the band took the name Absu in 1991. The duo became quintet upon the arrival of Proscriptor McGover on drums, David Athron Mystica on guitar and Black Massith on keyboards and some outputs (2 Demos and an EP). After a first album Barathrum: V.I.T.R.I.O.L. 4 years after the first steps of the Americans, Absu became a trio with the departure of David Athron Mystica and Black Massith. The second opus The Sun Of Tiphareth was born in 1995 with the double song of Shaftiel and Proscriptor, followed by The Third Storm of Cythraul 2 years later. The group explores the Mesopotamian, Sumerian and Celtic religions. 2001 saw the arrival of a second guitarist Kashshapxu who quickly joined the line-up and Absu handed over the cover with Tara the same year. Still in this religious perspective, the musicians integrate bagpipe and make it an album concept that is to date considered their masterpiece. For 6 years, the problems followed: departure from Equitant (even though Prospector and he collaborated on other groups), accident of Prospector's hand then departure from Shafflied and Kashshapxu. History of not letting the ship sink, Proscriptor and Equitant come out of the unpublished and rare under the name Mythological Occult Metal: 1991-2001 . Leaving Absu behind, Prospector focuses on other projects including Equimanthorn, Starchaser Network and its one-man-band, Proscriptor. The musician even applied to become a drummer of Slayer shortly before they returned to Dave Lombardo. However, in 2007, the rescuer announced 2 new recruits, Vastator Terrarum and Aethyris MacKay, signed at Candlelight and released an EP 7" Speed N'Spikes . The trouble is not over since Vastator Terrarum throws the sponge, replaced by Zawicuzuz (Infernal Oak , Rape Pillage Burn and Bleed The Son ). At the beginning of 2009, Absu was born, led by critics and the arrival of Ezezu ( Panzram ) at the bass. September sees the departure of Zawicuz, replaced by Vis Crom, while the band embarks on a tour with Pantheon I, Razor Of Occam and Zoroaster. The group practices what they call Mythological Occult Metal.
