Biography

If you only have to remember one name among all those of the Hard-Rock, be it ACDC . ACDC , the abbreviation for alternating and continuous current, or in Australian slang, by sail and steam. Thousands of high school students swear only by them, displaying their posters sold by millions in the world long before 1980, bringing the band into the legend of Hard-Rock. The Young brothers, of Scottish origin, who were completely crazy about music, managed to popularize Hard-Rock so that they are now known worldwide. We will surely not forget the charismatic guitarist Angus Young, a lilliputian schoolgirl and epileptic who, on stage, performs until the fainting, rolls on the floor, as possessed, without missing a chorus, fascinates and kicks the ass of the old hard guard by Gibson SG. After more than 30 years of career, ACDC doesn't care about music and clothing. ACDC flees from tabloids and challenges like plague and is content to do what it knows best, that is Hard-Rock.
As soon as they released their first album in 1974, High Voltage, ACDC announced the colour. The blues base of their sound is embellished with frenetic guitar riffs supporting Bon Scott's furious voice and his lyrics full of humor, rock and pretty girls. It is with Let There Be Rock released in 1977 that ACDC will make itself known worldwide. Keith Richard swears only by them, just like the young people who will soon form Metallica. Can you imagine? Even Bon Scott's death in 1980 (following a well-watered evening, we find him in a friend's car, choked by his vomit...) does not stop them. After careful reflection, the band engaged the singer Brian Johnson (ex-Geordie) whom Bon himself had spoken to them before his death.
And today, the numbers speak: ACDC is more than 100 million albums sold around the world. Back In Black (1980) sold at 15 million copies only to the U.S.A. For Those About To Rock (1981) certified Golden Disc (100,000 copies) in France in 13 days only. The Razors Edge (1990) ranked number 2 in the US billboards. The ultimate Monsters Of Rock concert (1991) in front of 500,000 people in Moscow. The 2nd live of the band's career (1992), soberly titled Live , double platinum (600,000 copies) still in France. ACDC performing in front of more than 100,000 French spectators (including 32,000 in Bercy) on the consecutive tour of Ballbreaker, released in 1995... Stiff Upper Lip, released in 2000, returned to their old blues love with a production by George Young, the big brother of the two guitarists. The Stiff Upper Lip Tour is for the occasion passed at the Stade de France, in June 2001, in front of a wild audience. Black Ice , their latest album, was released in 2008.
