The story of A Fire Inside , more commonly called AFI , begins in the '90s, specifically in '91, in Ukiah, California. Like many other courses, it is above all the meeting of four young high school students. After a few months, Vick, the first bassist in office, was replaced by Geoff Kresge. The quartet then releases an EP, Behind The Times, and unfortunately decides to separate for a while, because of their studies. Thus Kresge joined New Jersey and took place in Blanks 77 . Then on a school holiday, the band will reshape the time for a concert. We can no longer be positive that encourages group members to devote themselves full time to AFI . The latter then signed with Nitro Records (The Vandals , Guttermouth ) which released Very Proud Of Ya in '96, then two other albums in '97 including Shut Your Mouth And Open Your Eyes , and the re-edition of Answer That And Stay Fashionable , originally released on Wingnit Records. Kresge will then leave the formation, and will be replaced by Hunter. Then Stopholese will join Redemption 87, Jade Puget will take his place in the scratch. The new line-up will record an EP, A Fire Inside , In 1998, then the album Black Sails In The Sunset in '99. The Art Of Drowning will follow in 2000. Finally, 2003 saw the edition of Sing The Sorrow , produced by Butch Vig ( Garbage , Nirvana , Sonic Youth ), which will appear at Dreamworks Records.
