After two demos under the name Apocalypse , the band chose the surname After Forever and released its first album, Prison Of Desire in 2000. His success enabled him to record a second album, Decipher, the following year. Several tensions between the musicians then appeared, and Mark Jensen left in 2002 to found Epica . Bas Maas replaces him, and the band evolves its style towards a more brutal music than before, but always keeping its own symphonic side. The concept-album Invisible Circles was released in 2004 followed by Remagine's next year, with the popularity of the band growing. The band subsequently signed with Nuclear Blast after several problems with its previous label, and released in 2007 After Forever , considered by fans as one of its best albums.
