Agressor
Biography
Founded in 1986 Agressor is one of the pioneer groups of the Thrash/French Death Metal with Loudblast, Massacra and Mercyless. Also in 1986 the band recorded its first demo, The Merciless Onslaught , which received a very good reception in the underground Metal scene. In 1987 Satan Sodomy released his second demo and began concerts in France and Switzerland with Messiah, Samael, Sodom and Living Death. In 1988 the Split LP Licensed to Thrash was released with Loudblast. They became the first French band to sign on an international label following the recording of a new Orbital Distortion demo in 1989. A few months after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Agrossor recorded in Allemangne Neverending Destiny at the Skytrak studio produced by Bathory's producer and released by Noise Records, this album was at the time a relatively innovative one, given the content of certain texts (SF oriented when fashion is in the Occult and gore), but especially by its artwork signed by the famous cartoonist Philippe Druillet (Les Aventures de Lone Sloane, La Nuit). The album received a good international welcome due to its rather original mix for the period of brutal Thrash and Death Technique. Two years later, Towards Beyond was recorded in Sweden at the Montezuma studio produced by The Boss in person (Quorthon de Bathory ) Black Mark Prod, he mixes medieval music and Death quite technical, Thrash riffs, and ultra-heavy passages with a cavernous sound, the album is one of the surprises Death of a 1992 year yet very vintage. The Face Agressor of Split LP Licensed to Thrash was reissued in 1993 by Black Mark Prod. in MCD as Satan Sodomy . With Symposium of Rebirth in 1994, Agressor continues to follow his style while remaining faithful to his roots by exploring a new terrain with the Choirs of the Lyon Opera which were engaged for the recording and with the participation of Barney Greenway, singer of Napalm Death on a cover of Terrorizer. The album alternates medieval acoustic tracks with pure brutality Death, opera choirs on blast beats, covers of the music of the film Conan le Barbare . The band continues tours and concerts with bands such as Sinister, Wargasm, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Pestilence and Biohazard. After their tour in Britain with Cradle Of Filth in June 96, Alex began working for Black Mark Prod and became guitarist for Ibanez. As a result of all these activities, Agressor only returned in 2000 with Medieval Rites, recorded with the participation of many musicians: a flutist, a violinist, a tromboneist, an opera singer, more other personalities of the Metal scene: Krell and Christina (bloodhorn), Morten Nielsen (ex-mercyful Fate drummer), Kai Hahto ( Rotten Sound, Enochian Crescent). S January 2002, the band organizes an anniversary concert at Midem in Cannes, whose video released in 2006 on a DVD accompanying the Deathreat album at Season of Mist. The latter is the most brutal and quickest that the group has ever recorded reviving with its extreme roots after more than 20 years of career. Alex Colin-Tocquaine, the leader of Agrossor, has collaborated with groups such as Loudblast , Anorexia Nervosa , Bloodthorn E-Force , (ex-Voivod ), and is notably adorned by Ibanez, he is also present at the famous Music Academy Int. of Nancy. In 2016 the band will celebrate its 30 years of career.
