It was in 2007 in Leeds that Joe, Gwil, Gus and Thomas, still students, formed Daljit Dhaliwal then Films . The band began by writing and playing long and singular songs, based on large melodic flats and theatrical sounds. Quickly Films shoots in Europe and finds itself confronted with confusion with The Films , American pop rock group. Hence the English opt for Δ, which is the "delta" character printed by the keyboard shortcut mac Alt + j. To accentuate their love of the shift it will be Alt-J.
