Ambitions was formed in 2005 in Plainville (Connecticut) by the Aust brothers, who also worked in With Honor as guitarists. Jay Aust starts as a drummer and then sings, while John Ross (With Honor drummer) joins the project as a bass player. The trio recorded a first demo, No Limits, in September 2005 and toured with two friends, Matt Fox and Matt Fletcher from Shai Hulud. Ambitions released its firstep, Question , in September 2006 at Think Fast Records. The band's line-up then stabilizes with the arrival of Jake Woodruff on guitar and Keith Sidoowicz on drums. Many concerts follow, including Have Heart, Verse, Bane, Modern Life Is War and Shipwreck. The band draws the attention of Bridge Nine Records to whom he will sign quickly. In March 2007, No Limits was remastered and published in Vynil by Surprise Attack Records, then in May, Think Fast Records released a 7" (four tracks) titled Neon Lights, including a cover of the Misfits title "Astro Zombies". During the summer the band performs many shows with a plethora of bands such as Rise Against, Comeback Kid, Silverstein, Only Crime, Crime In Stereo, Have Heart, Ceremony, Blacklisted. The first production of Ambitions at Bridge Nine Records is a 7" (three tracks), Exile , which preceded by two months the release of its first album in November 2007, Stranger , produced by Greg Thomas and recorded at the Silver Bullet Studio.
