Biography

Amen will, despite his name, come not from Egypt but from Belgium. Coming from the Hate 8000, Hardcore/Belgian Metalcore collective of the 90s, the band made up of former Spineless , Lordz or Firestone is evolving its music for little by little landing on the Post-Hardcore beaches, a style that knows an increasingly visible craze. After the release of several EPs, LP and splits (with Gameness , Gantz , Vuur ), 2006 saw Mass III , the band's first album. Even so strongly influenced by the movement's flagship formations ( Isis , Neurosis , Cult Of Luna ) Yet Amenra develops an extreme heaviness and other personality especially with visuals and a very marked concept. The group also likes to perform in unusual places: forests, underwear parades, old churches... In 2008, Amenra returned with Mass IIII , more atmospheric but still as intense. After several notable concerts, Amenra performed first part of Neurosis in 2011 in Paris and then signed the following year at Neurot Recordings for the release of Mass V . Five years later, Mass VI was considered by many observers as a new turning point in the discography of Belgians. Less heavy, it gives more room for clear singing.
