Biography
Amplifier is an alternative rock band from Manchester,
composed of three members, with guitar and singing Sel Balamir,
Bass Neil Mahony and the summer Matt Brobin. The group is formed in
1998, released a demo the following year and turned mainly to
united kingdom where they become known slowly but surely. After
signed in 2002 on the English label Music for Nations and then made the
the first part of Deftones on one of their European tours, the
band starts writing a first eponymous album that will be released
6 June 2004 which will be very well received by critics and
English media. After an intensive tour in Europe and the United Kingdom
in 2004-2005, the group recorded an EP of 6 titles entitled The
Astronaut Dismantles HAL then enters studio again after having
skimmed different festivals (opening of download festival in particular)
early 2006 for their second album, entitled Insider . The album is then
always as well received by critics, kind of rock stoner
psychedelic sounds, which is not without being noticed by
certain groups with already established reputation which propose to Amplify
make certain dates with them ( Opeth , Porcupine Tree , Cloudride ) throughout the year 2007. Amplifier's songs are
often centered around a huge sound wall where effects pedals
and other sound delicacies have the beautiful part, giving to their albums
a psychedelic and always incisive tone. Amplify Us
