Anchor And Braille
Biography
The idea of a side project germinated in Stephen Christian's head while he composed songs for Anberlin. Classic. As early as 2004, the singer put aside titles that would surprise too much for his major project and resolve to refine them and release them later, when he will have fewer commitments.
He then spoke to Aaron Marsh (frontman of Copeland) who agreed to join the project. Meanwhile, Anberlin signed with Major Universal Music Group; Christian therefore asks them if they can distribute the creations of anchor & braille via the label he has just created for the occasion: Wood Water Records. Major accepts. In January 2007 a first 7" will be released for the songs "Sound Asleep" and "Wedding / Funeral".
Christian spent the next two years in Anberlin while continuing to compose from time to time for his side project. Aaron Marsh finally withdrew from the project to devote himself fully to Copeland. On January 1, 2009, while writing the opus is folded, he announces via his blog that the album will be released in 2009, and that if on January 1, 2010 it was still not, he would free download it. He will not need to do so since the cake is recorded, mixed and mastered fairly quickly by Aaron Marsh, who eventually participates in the project by adding instruments and ideas to the final work.
Felt is in the ferries on August 04, 2009 and just before, anchor & braille leaves on summer tour in the first part of Copeland and Sherwood.
