Andrew Bird

Country: United States
Formed: 1973
Styles: Folk Indie Rock

Biography

A multi-instrumentalist born in 1973, Andrew Bird plunges very young into the world of jazz and gypsy music. His first albums, in the mid-1990s, also carried the influence of a traditional folk / americana where the guitar blends with the violin, gradually giving him the place of instrument predominant in the compositions of the musician.
It is with his own band, Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, that the Bird returns to more rock compositions, although he draws inspiration in several styles. After 3 albums, the band officially split up in 2003; Andrew Bird takes the torch solo playing, in addition, of his sipping abilities (is it due to the predisposition of his name?). Evolved in a rhythmic and musically varied indie folk due to the contribution of a backing band and the multiple instruments used, his fifth album, Noble Beast , was released in January 2009, quickly followed, in May of the same year, by an EP of B faces.
