During 1978, Turner and Saunders moved into the VOM group , an ep live author released during the summer. Shortly after the formation of the Samoan Angry, Saunders, Turner and Homer wrote a song inspired by director Rodney Bingenheimer entitled "Get Off The Air". Due to Bingheimer's reputation and influence, the band was blacklisted from all LA clubs for two years. The first Samoan Angry concert took place in the first part of Roky Erickson and the Aliens in Richmond in October 1978. Inside my Brain , the first recording of the Samoans , is considered one of the founding acts of the hardcore punk scene in Los Angeles. After Back from Samoa, the group returns to its first garage loves on Yesterday Started Tomorrow and STP Not LSD. Homer left the Samoans in 1988 to form The Mooeheart Faith Stellar Groove Band. Turner followed him a few years later. Samoans continue their adventure with Saunders, Vockeroth. After thirty years, the band remains active, offering a few tours around the world and still slamming California.
