Biography

Annihilator, one of the most prolific Thrash-Metal bands, began his history in 1984 in Canada with Jeff Waters, who is now the only permanent member since its inception. Discovering Thrash-Metal with Metallica , Slayer , Exodus and Venom , Jeff released three first demos between 1985 and 1988. After financial galleys and a lack of time during the recording sessions it was only at the end of 1989 that Annihilator's first record, Alice In Hell , soon became a reference in the field of technical Thrash selling much better than Roadrunner hoped. The same year the band made its first tour in the first part of Onslaught and Testament. In February 1990, Annihilator entered the Vancouver Studios to produce Never, Neverland which remained in the continuity of Alice In Hell, but was more melodic and had more varied tempi. Once again the success of the rendezvous, the combo makes a leading tour with Pantera in particular. 1993 marks a break in Jeff Waters' career. Set The World On Fire recorded at Fiasco Bros Studios, abandons Thrash-Metal for Heavy-Metal, targets a much wider audience than in the past and if new fans are conquered, others will deny this album. Jeff Waters entered the studio again to record King Of The Kill in 1994 at the Watersound Studios he had just built with the money inherited from an aunt. The opus is in line with Set The World On Fire, but Annihilator's popularity is declining, and sales are disappointing. 1996 Rebelote, Refresh The Demon is very similar to the previous and even Remains that comes out the following year is more experimental, but still does not convince. Jeff then decided to take a two-year break. 1999 is the year of the resurrection for Annihilator with Criteria For A Black Widow, which marks a return to the sources that many appreciate, continued by Carnival Diablos as well as Walking The Fury in 2001 and 2002 which confirm the good health of the combo. In 2004, annihilator's tenth album, All For You , which asserts a theatrical side in their music more exacerbated than before, was released in 2005 by Schizo Deluxe, which remains musically very close to the previous one. Ten Years In Hell is the first dvd to trace the band's history in 2006. On Metal , Annihilator manages to bring together no less than eleven guests including Angela Gossow and Micheal Amott from Arch Enemy , Jeff Loomis ( Nevermore ), Alexi Laiho ( Children Of Bodom ), Jesper Strømblad ( In Flames ) and Corey Beaulieu ( Trivium ). After a second dvd in 2009, Live At Masters Of Rock also released in audio, Annihilator returns with an eponymous record in 2010.
