Anomie

Country: France
Styles: Emocore

Biography

Being part of the French scene emo of the mid-1990s, the "french way of emo" as it is called abroad, Anomie presents the peculiarity of being one of these rare bands of emocore with female singing. Originally from Orleans and made up of former Escape members in particular, the group records a first split / EP with one of the precursor groups of the emo in France, perhaps. This first burnout (except the demo tape released through the Ape label) is distributed by Stonehenge Records, the reference of the era in terms of emocore in France (Undone, Fingerprint, Jasemine, etc.). Follow an LP shared with the Germans of Peace Of Mind as well as an album. In 2000, Spurt had the good idea of grouping the songs of Anomie in this Discography which includes the majority of the songs of the group (if not those present on the split with Maybe which are the least appreciated by the group), as well as some compositions found only on some compilations (Food not Bomb V/A and 51 Comp. not to name them). Anomie will remain one of the most influential and important French emocore groups on the international stage.
