Biography

Riekus: Willem Battery: Song and Guitar Tom: Bass and Song
Inspired by the melodic punk rock wave of the 90s, Bob, Willem and Yvo staged Antillective in September 2000 in their province of Nijmegen in the Netherlands. They recorded their first EP, Penetrating the Industry in 2001. As the names of the group and this EP indicate, the three Dutch chose politics as their enemy. A land on which their main influence excels, Propagandhi. Later, it's all very fast for Antillelectric who record their first album Facts, opinions and Between (always in DIY) in November 2002 before going on tour on the European continent (crossing the roads of Ignite , Against Me! , Fabulous Disaster , Section 8 ...) and then on American soil for three weeks in August 2004. On the occasion of this tour in the USA the trio will entrust the mastering of their second album recorded by Menno Bakker (Undeclinable , NRA ...) to Alan Douches (Sick Of It All , Thrice , Sepultura ...) of the West Side Music Studio (New Jersey, USA). In 2005, the opus Silencing Civilization was released on Angry Youth Records (NL).
Since then, Riekus replaced Bob with the drums in 2006, the (European) tours have continued, including some French dates in January '07. In the spring, new demos are unveiled as the trio composes and records his second album, Testimony. Once this stage is over, they leave in July for 2 weeks of tour in the United States. A new invasion of European roads is scheduled for the end of September / mid October, with numerous stops in France.
Then comes the time to prepare the release of the disc. The trio therefore seeks labels and releases Testimony on several European labels (including Youth Way Records for France) on March 3. They chain directly with a few dates in France and Portugal, before flying to the USA and continuing to survey Europe.
In spring '09, they announced the release of a 7" acoustic, Pull the Plug, before leaving on the roads with Rentokill and after the Fall. In September they announce floor on new compositions and deliver a first preview with "Kraken gaat door" ("Squatting Continues"), with reference to the anti-squat laws promulgated in the Netherlands. In early 2010, Yvo finally left the ship after a last show sold out rich in emotions, he was "replaced" by Tom. The small tour in southern Europe in February will be a turn of the new bass player already well integrated, then the trio will follow the recording of Start From Scratch as early as March, before a release at Groezrock and various European festivals, accompanying High Five Drive, Hot Water Music and others.
August 2010 marks the beginning of the full streaming of the opus Start From Scratch, a new song per week until its release on November 1st on several labels (Effervescence Records for France). The first "promo" tour of the galette will be for Hexagon, early November.
