Antimatter
Biography
Antimatter formed in 1998 when Duncan Patterson (then a defector of Anathema , after the release of Alternative 4 ) and his long-time friend Michael Moss joined forces to create a sound that would borrow from all the spectrum of their influences. It was only in 2002 that Prophecy Records released their very first album Saviour . Antimatter jostles the conventions by issuing an album between Ambient and Rock felt (not to say Trip-Hop), which receives excellent reviews everywhere. After this coup d'assay et coup de maƮtre, the band did not stop there and since 2003, Patterson and Moss are back with Lights Out , a superb album mixing the delicate harmonies of electronics, Ambient and Dark Rock for a melancholic and beautiful result. Again, the group managed to pull its pin from the game to win apart from all the scenes. In 2004, the band also appeared on a tribute to Dead Can Dance (with such talented bands as Ulver, The Gathering, Arcana, Green Carnation among others), performing Black Sun while Mick Moss produced the version of How fortunate Is The Man With None by Daniel Cavanagh of Anathema. Antimatter's career continued in 2005 with the release of the highly anticipated third album Planetary Confinement , this time more acoustic and in a more organic vein than their previous opus, rich in strings and piano. After this new artistic success, Duncan Patterson wants to devote himself to a new project called Ion . Mick Moss began recording a new album entitled Leading Eden in June 2006, with the support of Daniel Cavanagh. This fourth album in more electric tones was released by The End Records in 2007. After several tours and concerts in Europe, the creation of Moss' Music In Stone label, we have to wait until 2012 and a signature at Prophecy Productions, for the release of Fear Of A Unique Identity which is once again a success.
