Biography

Discovered by David Tibet (Current 93), Antony and the Johnsons' first album, eponymous, was released in 2000 on Durtro records. From a first EP, I Fell in Love with a Dead Boy (2001), to various cooperations (David Lynch , Lou Reed ), Antony Hegarty deploys its complexity through artistic experiments that are worth his second album, I Am a Bird Now , in 2005, a Mercury Prize and a public success. Pain made voice, he draws from the background of his personal and androgynous pulls on the background of folk bluesy, minimalist to deliver an album on the thread accompanied by Rufus Wrainright and Devendra Banhart which marks the beginning of a fat period in terms of EP and collaborations ( Leonard Cohen , Björk , appearances at the cinema, recaptures of his songs in certain films, among others).
In 2008, another EP, Another World, announced a new spirituality for the singer who offered his third album, blinding the following year, The Crying Light.
