Biography

It is from Brussels that probably comes one of the most influential group of European Metal-Hardcore. Arkangel formed in 1997 under the leadership of Baldur (Chant), Kirby (Guitare), Vincent (Basse), and David (Battery). They will soon record the 1998 Maxi Prayers Upon Deaf Ears and their first Dead Man Walking album in the wake of 1999. The band arouses a rapid enthusiasm in the Hardcore milieu, especially since Kirby's creativity was noticeably noticed before in such formations as Lenght Of Time or Deviate. Arkangel took part in the most prestigious meetings, be it the Hellfest of Syracuse in the USA, the San Feliu Hardcore Fest in Spain, but also a multitude of concerts around the world. However, this immediate success will cast doubt within the group. The Good Life Recordings label no longer seems to meet the expectations of Brusselsers, and Vincent will be replaced a while later by Medhi ( Es La Guerilla ). With more experience in the field, Arkangel founded its own structure under the name Private Hell Records. It is therefore necessary to face the crucial stage of the second album, and that is how Hope You Die By Overdose will be released in October 2004 which effects a bomb in the middle. Four years later Belgians come back with Is Your Enemy.
