Biography

Arsis is an American band from Death Metal Mélodic Technique founded in 2000 by singer/guitarist James Malone and drummer Michael Van Dyne. In the studio, the band remained a duo until 2005, Malone also taking care of bass, and recorded the first album A Celebration Of Guilt (2004) and the EP A Diamond For Disease (2005). Later, the line-up completes into a quartet. These include the guitar Ryan Knight (who will then join The Black Dahlia Murder), Nick Cordle (who will pass by Arch Enemy) and Brandon Ellis (Cannabis Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder), who has been in office since 2012. As for the rhythm section, the bass was held by Noah Martin, and on the drums, Van Dyne was temporarily replaced by Darren Cesca (Deeds Of Flesh) in 2007-2008, and Shawn Priest since the founding member's final departure in 2012. On the release, after United In Regret in 2006, Arsis signed on the Nuclear Blast Records label, on which three albums will appear until Unwelcome in 2013. The band became discreet in the following years, before announcing its return with its sixth opus, Visitant , which was born in November 2018 at Agonia Records.
