As I Lay Dying

As I Lay Dying is a metalcore band formed in January 2001 around Tim Lambesis (song, ex Society's Finest) and Evan White (Guitare) who were soon joined by talented musicians. By March 2001, Beneath the Taking of Ashes had already found a taker at Pluto Records who distributed it. This first opus made a carton and it remains the best-selling album in Pluto's catalogue! After skimming the United States for almost 1 year, As I Lay Dying recorded titles on this split CD with American Tragedy, released in June '02. In March '03, while the band was recording a new album, he signed on Metal Blade Records and released Frail Words Collapse on July 1 on the extreme metal label. Already often on tour before, the release of this CD sees them on the road most of the year, notably with Silkwork, Sworn Enemy, Haste, Bleeding Through, Every Time I Die or In Flames. In 2005, as the band renewed its guitarist pair with the arrivals of Phil Sgrasso and Nick Hipa in his ranks, their 3rd album was released during the summer. Shadows Are Security will be a commercial success (275,000 copies over the Atlantic). They will then shoot with Slipknot and Unarth, and join the Ozzfest. At the end of 2006, the band will recruit a new bassist, Josh Gilbert. In the summer of 2007, As I Lay Dying released An Ocean Between Us and toured with Darkest Hour, Himsa and Maroon to promote it. In May 2010, the band released its 5th album, The Powerless Rise . Now headline, they will be accompanied on tour by Carnifex, All That Remains, Unarth, Demon Hunter, Heaven Shall Burn, Suicide Silence, Sylosis ... The following year the band will be released to celebrate its 10 years of career a record, Decas, consisting of 3 new titles, covers and re-records of old titles. As I Lay Dying recently released his latest album, Awakened , in September 2012 and was on tour in Europe with Trivium and Caliban in October and November.
