In 2002 at Myrtle Beach (South Carolina), brother Carney, Nathanael (guitar) and Caleb (battery), founded The Genocide Approach (hardcore metal) and were soon joined by bassist Alfred Magnusson. At Half-Mast , resolutely hardcore, was born with the arrival of third brother Carney, Timothy, and guitarist Kenneth Faith. In 2006, the band recorded its first album, Alive, Alone, And Waiting, with Brian Mackenzie at the Lazy Eye Studio. He was released in 2007 at Goodwill Records and in Vynil at Words Of War. After Timothy Carney's departure and his replacement by Justin Turner, At Half-Mast took part in two 7" splits in late 2007 with Values Intact and To The Embers. New line-up change in 2008, Benjamin taking the guitar instead of Kenneth Faith. The band then recorded its second album, Fathers And Sons , at the Ledbelly Sound Studio with Matt Washburn ( Mastodon , Norma Jean ) which was released in July/August at Words Of War.
