Atlas Losing Grip
Biography
Following the local elders of Satanic Surfers, Atlas Losing Grip was born in 2005 in Lund, Sweden. The composition of the quartet is then unstable and the changes will follow over the first two years... Meanwhile, the first demo is available for free download via Myspace in '06.
Throughout 2007, the band's reputation grew and ALG moved to a higher speed: more concerts throughout their native Sweden, and a new demo recorded in May. While Julian Guedj is still drummer at Sista Sekunden with other ex- Satanic Surfers, Stefan Bratt will take up the same year as bass player at Enemy Alliance (ex- Satanic Surfers, Venerea) and Gustav Brunn will make a run there in November as guitarist on the New Wind, Second Wave tour. But not until he folded the recording in October of the first opus Shut the World Out . (directed by Mattias Persson, ingé de Venerea and Satanic Surfers as well as bassist at Kontrovers ). The latter, originally scheduled for spring, will appear in August 2008 on the Japanese team Bells On Records. Several tours are cancelled but not the time to get bitten because the successor is already on the way.
The EP Watching the Horizon recording begins on 1 January '09 and will last for almost eight months (the group will take care of it itself). In March, Rodrigo Alfaro ( Satanic Surfers , Intensity , Venerea , Enemy Alliance ...) was announced to join the song for this opus which will be released in mid-October '09 (in Bad Moon Records , No Reason Records , Shield Recordings , Eye Spy Records , Horror Business and Bells On Records ). The bull had to get bored since he was only behind the drums at Venerea and Enemy Alliance was on a break... After the EP's release, the band increasingly toured in 2010 (notably alongside In-Sane in March) until a Scandinavian tour in the first part of Bad Religion in late summer, in addition to festivals. As soon as they returned in autumn '10, they landed to compose a new opus, State of Unrest. He was recorded from December 25th to February 2011 and mastered by Jason Livermore at the Blasting Room. Once again, he released (on 28 May) on a myriad of independent labels in Europe and around the world. After a rowing by home, they land for a first European tour in September / October opening Millencolin, before returning alone in November.
