Autopsy
Biography
Autopsy is one of the pioneers of the Death Metal Old School of the 1980s in the United States. The group formed in 1987. The founder of the band is Chris Reifert, then drummer of the Death group. After the recording of Death's famous Scream Bloody Gore, Chris Reifert decided to leave the band and form Autopsy. He is joined by guitarist Eric Cutler and bassist Eric Eigard. Together they recorded their first demo entitled Stillborn in 1987. Just after the recording, Danny Coralles joined the band as second guitarist. After two other demos (Critical Madness and Ridden With Disease) and some line-up changes, the band finally released its first S evered Survival album in 1990. Autopsy then pushes the limits of extreme music with a very bold album, well gore and well crade. In 1991, after the EP Retribution For the Dead, released the band's second album: Mental Funeral. This album is even darker than the first and mixes much more the doom atmospheres so characteristic to Autopsy. The third opus was called Acts of the Unspeakable and was released in 1993 with an even worse sound than in previous albums. The band's latest studio album, Shitfun , was released in 1995. We are talking about the latest studio album since Autopsy will stop his career a few years, will release a compilation in 2000 ( Torn From The Grave), a reissue of a demo the same year (Ridden With Disease) and a live (Dead As Fuck ). Still led by Chris Reifert, the Americans briefly return to the front of the stage in 2008 on the occasion of the Maryland Death Fest with Joe Trevisano for the post of bassist, in 2009 Autopsy announces a return to permanent business and in 2010 it is with the EP The Tomb Within that the return discography is carried out, very well received by fans and the critic Autopsy definitely sinks the nail in 2011 with Macabre Eternal . Here we find the macabre and tortured atmospheres of the beginnings immerse the listener in very gloomy atmospheres. In 2013 it was the turn of The Headless Ritual to appear, then in 2014 Tournaments, Hacksaws and Graves , Autopsy no longer stops and announces at the end of 2015 the release of a new album Skull Grinder , available in vinyl first, then in CD early 2016.
