Swedish group classified in death metal
melodic. Avatar has actually experienced two phases at this time:
The drummer, John
Alfredsson and the singer Johannes Eckerstrom are at the origin of the band
2000. After three years of regular line-up change, things go
stabilize for the Gothemburgers. Avatar was then composed of Simon Andersson and
Jonas Jarlsby on guitar and Henrik Sandelin on bass. Together they released a demo: Personal Observations in 2003, and three studio albums: Toughts of No Tomorrow in 2006, Schlacht in 2007 and the eponym Avatar in 2009. Throughout this period, the
Sweden operates a rather classical melodic death metal, in line with In
Flames , Dark Tranquility and Moults other formations of the genre.
In December 2011, Simon Andresson left the band and was
replaced by Tim Ohrstrom. Line-up
then remain unchanged. This is also when Avatar finds his
way, changes some style, moving towards a monster side of fair
It can be seen both orally and visually. For the shooting of the clip
Black Waltz, the singer Johannes then groans in clown to accompany a
troupe of circus artists who show their amazing talents. It was a
total revelation and from that moment the clown remained and remained the sinister
group mascot. In this movement, they recorded four albums: Black Waltz in 2012, Hail the Apocalypse in 2014, Feathers&Flesh in 2016 and Avatar Country in 2018.
On stage Avatar is renowned for the quality of its shows:
a precise, heavy and powerful sound. Some parts choreographed like their
entrance, some passages of songs as well as some interludes, all
led by the facetious singer, halfway between the Joker and The Crow.
