Backsight was born in January 2002 in Avignon. A year later, the band recorded its first demo, Just Look Forward, at Rio Loco (Montauban), under the leadership of Yannos de Fat Society. From April onwards, Backsight performs many concerts including 25 Ta Life, Pointing Finger, Walls Of Jericho or Fat Society. A second demo was released in 2004, entitled The Rules Have Changed . The band entered the studio in August 2004 to record its first album, See The Damage. He was released in May 2005 at Desagree Records. That same year, Backsight took part in the Free Edge Fest and played with bands like Blue Monday or Go It Alone. In 2007, the quintet participated in a Tribute To Warzone (Eternalis Records) by taking "Count Down" and released an ep split with Malaysian Kids On The Move, Bridging Oceans. After changing bass, Backsight returned to a series of concerts.
