Bark Psychosis
Biography
An English quartet, Bark Psychosis began its activity in 1986 under the impetus of frontman Graham Sutton by releasing several singles and EP's and ending his career with a single LP, Hex , published in 1994. Often considered as one of the pioneers of the genre, Bark Psychosis was, for the first time, named under the post-rock label, which thus indicated "the use of rock instrumentation for a "non-rock" result, the guitars being used to favor stamps and textures instead of riffs and power chords" (The Wire). It is not an exaggeration to talk about a masterpiece when we mention this album because it contains sound influences (jazz, minimalism, electro) and nevertheless manages to create a unique sound and atmosphere that will be revealing to many bands afterwards.
Bark Psychosis resurfaced in 2004, with a completely different line-up, the only common denominator remaining Graham Sutton . ///Codename: Dustsucker sees, moreover, the participation of Lee Harris ( Talk Talk Talk ) behind the drums.
The importance of the English, though unknown, in the genre and their resonance is to be put at the same level as a Spiderland of Slint (1991) or a Laughing Stock of Talk Talk (1991).
