Biography

Battle Of Mice is first the story of a meeting, in 2005, that of Julie Christmas, the singer of Made Out Of Babies, and Josh Graham, the founder of Red Sparowes. Embarked on a joint tour with their respective bands, they almost immediately hated each other. Yet a relationship has been established, the strangest ever. These two do not get along, not in the common sense of the word, but when it comes to music, the alchemy is incredible. And that's how an album project was born. With bass player Tony Maimone (Book of Knots , ex-Pere Ubu ) and drummer and producer Joel Hamilton (Book of Knots , Players Club , Glazed Baby ), Battle of Mice invested in 2006 the Studio G in Brooklyn to record the 7 tracks of A Day of Nights , an emotional journey sometimes close to those visited by Neurosis , of which Josh is also the visual designer. Recording readily devastating, with maximum tension between Julie and Josh, unable to remain in the same room while only 5 songs were finalized.
Where then comes the strange name Battle Of Mice probably wonders the reader. Simply from Greek history, nothing less, and a sentence attributed to Alexander the Great after the bloody battle of Megalopolis (331 B.C.), which opposed the Macedonians of his second Antipater to the Spartas of King Agis III. Contemplating the carnage, however, he had his words "It seems, my friends, that while we have been conquering Darius here, there has been a battle of mile in Arcadia". Battle Of Mice is the story of a mouse battle between two strong personalities. And despite the infernal ride between its two main protagonists, for them it is certain, there will be other records, of course, at Neurot Recordings, which finds there a new group to match the home requirements.
