Founded in Pittsburgh in 2000, Behind Enemy Lines is the product of the split of Aus Rotten in which Dave Trenga and Matt Garabedian were active. Matt Sachs (ex- Devastation) and Bill Chamberlain (ex- The React / The Pist) complete the line up. Drawing their inspiration from Crust Cultissimes bands such as Amebix, Crass or Discharge, the band is working hard to write its first album, Know Your Enemy, which was released at Tribal War Records in 2002. Shortly after his release, Behind Enemy Lines lost his bassist Sachs but found a replacement of choice with Mary Bielich, former of the venerable combo doom Penance. As a result, Trenga and Garabedian joined Matt Tuite, guitarist from the same band. Under this formation, Behind Enemy Lines recorded The Global Cannibal in 2003, at the beginning of Iraq's invasion. It was not until 2007 that the band's third album, One Nation Under the Iron Fist of God , was born at Profane Existence.
