Belvedere
Biography
Steve Rawles (Chant / Guitar) formed Belvedere at the end of 1995 in Calgary, Canada. In 1998, after many changes in the band and rehearsals, the first promising album Because No One Stopped Us was released. In the same year, they won the Punk springboard organized by Bad Religion and the Warped Tour, allowing them to shoot with Bad Religion on dates reaching 7,000 people and also to record their second opus Angels Live In My Town which is more accomplished but still as fast, melodic and aggressive. As they continued to tour with prestigious bands and improve, they released Twas Hell Said Former Child jointly on Union Label (end 2001) and Jump Start Records (early 2002). Europe discovers them thanks to two tours on the old continent in September 2002 with Satanic Surfers and in March/April 2003 with Pulley . Meanwhile, a split with Downway Canadians was created, while Fast Forward Eats The Tape , recorded by Blair Calibaba ( Sum 41 ), was released in 2004. But Belvedere splits at the end of 2005. Steve and Graham founded This Is A Standoff in 2007 with whom they recorded two albums. In 2012, the need to reform Belvedere was felt, but only for a reformation tour. It was only in 2013 that the band returned to writing, which in 2016 led to the release of the fifth album, The Revenge Of The Fifth via Effervescence Records.
