Biography
Ben Frost (born 1980 in Reykjavík, Iceland) is an Australian musician. Very influenced by the contrast between classical minimalism and metal or punk rock, his visceral electronic compositions combine the suggestive power of machines with threatening fury of guitars. Wire Magazine tells him that his music resembles that of Arvo Pärt as it would play Trent Reznor (NIN ).
Ben Frost is also known for his various collaborations (with Björk , Tim Hecker , Fennesz or Johan Johannsson ) and his work with the quartet Amiina which is also featured on Frost's latest LP, By The Throat , released in 2009.
