Ben Gibbard And Jay Farrar

The collaboration between Ben Gibbard ( Death Cab for Cutie , The Postal Service ) and Jay Farrar ( Son Volt ) began in 2007 when the two guitarists were called upon to work on the soundtrack of a documentary about writer Jack Kerouac (who also participated Patti Smith and Tom Waits ) entitled One Fast Move or I'm Gone: Jack Kerouac's Big Sur . From thread to needle, the duo's work leads to a complete album bearing the title of the documentary and released in 2009. Gibbard and Farrar then toured together to present the album, whose lyrics are taken directly from the novel Big Sur, to the public.
