Better Than A Thousand is a hardcore straight-edge band formed in 1997 by the charismatic singer of Youth Of Today and Shelter, Ray Cappo, drummer Kenneth Olden (Damnation AS , Battery ) guitarist Jeff Neumann (In My Eyes ) and bassist Graham Land (ex-Battery , Baby Gopal ).
In July 1997, the band released its first album, Just One on the Revelation Records label. Following the very good reception he received Better Than A Thousand on a tour.
The second album Value Driven was released in 1998. The story tells us that initially the Roadrunner label did not want to make this album for fear of breaking the sales of Shelter's Beyond Planet Earth record released earlier. Decided to release this album at any cost, Ray Cappo would then have recovered the registration without permission and broadcasted in Europe and Japan. Enthusiastic about the good results, Epitaph will distribute it to the United States.
