Biography

Big Bernie is a trio of math rock / progressive instrumental formed in 2010 that comes straight from Dunkirk. With its already two demos and a split with Sandpipers in 2014, the band released its first long effort in 2016, Yersey , mixed by Olivier Delmer and mastered by Colin Marston ( Dysrhythmia , Gorguts , Behold The Archtopus ...), and began a tour in June of the same year, accompanied on the roads by plastic artist Marianne Lejunter who besides being busy with the graphic world of the band and the album cover, projected his video creations during the stage performances of the combo. Big Bernie's music is very complex, oscillating between a complex math rock (Battles) and 70's prog rock influences as diverse and varied as King Crimson, Yes and Can or more contemporary psychedelic rock (Yawning Man, Tame Impala). A rotten pot with a very interesting result, between heavy, math rock and kraut-rock, which will allow them quite quickly to shoot with bands like Mars Red Sky, ToToro, Zenzile, Maserati, Glowsun or even Nothing and Ed Wood Jr. The search for dreamy atmospheres and atmospheres seems to be the basis of work of the trio who does not hesitate to compose, especially Yersey , exclusively around a unique theme, in this case the theme of oceans and navigation for their first album. A captivating instrumental narrative, which allows them to drape both math rock fans and lovers of ambient psychedelism. A group that is certainly young, but lacks neither talent nor ambition so much the quality and originality of the titles is so far quite impressive... Their first album will be released on June 14, 2016, on the Label "Uproar For Veneration Records" (UFV). Line up : Guitar : Paul Muszynski Bass : Charly Millioz at the Battery : Clement Glasset
