Biography

We can't thank American campuses enough. At the beginning of the 2000s, destined to share one room, Justin Rice and Christian Rudder, quickly found affinities and began to compose as a duo, in the purest tradition of Anglo-Saxon songwriting. Lemulation does its work and quickly Bishop Allen releases his first effort, named Charm School (2003), in tribute to this meeting born under the sign of the university, which will be crowned with an esteemed success. But these studies are tenacious and the project must hibernate for 2 years, before its authors resume the path of writing, and this, in order to embark on a crazy bet: create an EP composed of 4 titles for each month of the year. Operation code name: The EP Project . Bishop Allen released 58 pop nuggets in a year. Dingue. With this pleiade of songs, the combo, which presents itself as Justin Rice, Christian Rudder and Friends - because many other musicians collaborate - , The Broken String will group 9 of his best works and add 3 unreleased ones. The first album recorded in the studio, the album was released in 2007 via the Dead Oceans label. A veritable pertussis of the indie underground Atlantic scene, the Brooklyn duo is about to land in Europe. They will be found in Paris on 26 and 27 November.
