Black Label Society
Biography
In 1994, Zakk Wylde guitarist by Ozzy Osbourne (who had hired him a few years earlier) took advantage of a calendar break to release a first solo album (Pride&Glory), a commercial failure which nevertheless did not start Wylde's determination. In 1999, he formed Black Label Society on the ashes of Lynyrd Skinhead, a cover group of Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band mainly composed by Zakk Wylde (he plays guitar, bass and singing) accompanied by Phil Ondich on drums released his first album (Sonic Brew ) in 1999. The band then chained the albums and shot more and more (including the Ozzfest on the small then big stage). Four albums and a live show are born in less than five years. Musically, the band offers a mix of Heavy Rock and Groove Metal with Southern Rock roots. The last two albums, Mafia (2005) and Shot To Hell (2006), are to be compared with Ozzy Osbourne . The band returned in 2010 with O rder Of The Black, then The Song Remains Not The Same in 2011. In 2014 came Catacombs Of The Black Vatican.
