Blood Ceremony
Biography
" We're anti-war, pro-horror goal. Standing before the crimson altar, our minds melted as we gasted into the cosmic eye. Now we slay the stages of the universe with heavy riffs, paranoia-inducing trills and '70s fills." But again? Not much... if it is only behind the name of Blood Ceremony (chosen after the Spanish horror movie Ceremonia Sangrienta , released in 1972), we find Alia O'Brien (song, flute, organ), Sean Kennedy (guitar), Chris Landon (bass), and Andrew Haust (drums). Trained in the winter of 2006 in Toronto, the band is accustomed to playing very frequently in local venues as well as in Montreal, where its unique concerts (non-common venues, concerts before the screening of experimental films, etc.) contribute to its success. Note, for example, the band's participation in Pop Montreal 2007 and the CMY Festival in New York that year. After some difficulties, the band finally managed to compose and record an album, mixed by Billy Anderson, album – eponymous – which ended up being released by Rise Above Records in 2008. The band then found its rhythm, returning with Living With The Ancients in 2011, The Eldrich Dark in 2013 and finally Lord of Misrule in 2016.
