Biography
Jason Farrell - singing, guitar Dave Stern - guitar Jake Kump - bass Dave Bryson - drums
After Swiz split, his first hardcore band, Jason Farrell embarked on a career as a designer. He works for Ian Mac Kaye and Dischord by performing the artwork of a few albums of the label, notably Acid to Ashes by Severin and participates in the design of Fugazi's In on The Killtaker.
A few years later, he founded Bluetip with his colleague from Swiz, Dave Stern. Jake Kump (bass) and Zac Eller (battery), complete the band. The duo Mac Kaye / Nelson, seduced by their demo, gives them the means to record their first skeud on the Hellfire Records label.
Bluetip chain tours around the world but is facing serious line up problems. Zac leaves the band after the first eponymous album and replaced by Dave Bryson for Join Us' recording. Dave Stern quit after Join Us , replaced by Brian Clancy. Bluetip then goes back to the studio to simultaneously record Hot-Fast-Union and Polymer . Bryson left the band after the following tour. Bluetip folds definitively in 2001.
Jason Farrell is today the leader of the Retisonic group. Along with his musical career, he continued his activities as a designer. Recently he signed the artwork of Strike Anywhere's Exit English album.
